Hours:                                   (20 hours per week – September 2019-October 2019 – possible increase in hours if required)

 

Fee:                                        £15 per hour  

Responsible to:                  Arts Programme and Operations Manager, New Lodge Arts

Location:                              New Lodge Arts, Ashton Centre

 

 

Background

To coordinate the development and delivery of a Good relations arts-based

programme of activities for children and young people across the North Belfast area.

 

To generate additional opportunities for children and young people to access a wide

range of high quality arts experiences as participants and audience.

 

To locate the arts at the centre of youth development in the North Belfast area.

           

Main Duties & Responsibilities:            

 

  1. To coordinate the development and delivery of a Community Pride Programme across North Belfast.

 

  1. To monitor and record participant’s interests and engagement throughout the duration of the programmes

 

  1. To work closely with artists, tutors, arts organisations and youth and community groups to maximise the creative outcomes from programmed activities.

 

  1. To work in partnership with other community and arts organisations to deliver additional activities and opportunities for local children and young people

 

 

Other duties:                       

  1. To support the implementation of the New Lodge Arts’ and the partner’s policies in relation to child protection and equality of opportunities. 

 

  1. To undertake any other appropriate duties which may be reasonably allocated.

 

  1. Assist in reporting to a range of funding organisations.

 

  1. Manage own project budgets and prepare reports for Finance administrator as and when required.

  1. At least two years’ experience in planning and project management within the community or arts sector.

 

  1. Experience of delivering programmes on a cross-community basis.

 

  1. Experience of delivering events or festivals.

 

  1. An understanding of community development processes and issues.
