Katrina has worked in New Lodge Arts since the project began over 18 years ago.  'I am extremely proud of New Lodge Arts, the staff team and the young people involved.  In April 2012 my post changes to include Youth Development.  My role is a combined one that includes strategic management of New Lodge Arts and Centre Manager of New Lodge Youth Centre.  Although the job can be very demanding, I love the work I do.' 

Anne Delaney, Arts Programme & Operations Manager anne.delaney@ashtoncentre.com

Anne has worked with New Lodge Arts since August 2012.  ' I am responsible for managing staff and artists, securing funding, overseeing finance and managing the delivery of a diverse programme of arts based projects and events primarily for young peopel across north Belfast.  We are continually expanding our projects and I love to see the organisation grow and develop.  A huge strength is our committed staff team who give over their roles to make the organisation the success it is today.  We all love working with young people and seeing the postive impact of our projects makes it all worthwhile!'

Orla Hawkins, Youth Arts Worker orla.hawkins@ashtoncentre.com

'My role involves working directly with young people from across north Belfast, a few evenings each week.  The programmes include OCN Level 2 Leadership in Youth Work and OCN Level 2 Event Management.  I also lead the New Lodge Arts Youth Advisory Group made up of young people who advise and support New Lodge Arts in decision making and the direction the organisation takes.   I have also recently started co-ordinating the Inner North Youth Platform which includes young people from across Inner North Belfast who represent the views of young people from all communities and cultures.  The group will deliver a youth conference each year and are involved in developing their leadership skills.

'My role in New Lodge Arts is to develop arts within the organisation and implement new creative projects within North Belfast. I assist artists during our annual programme of activities, deliver new arts based workshops to children in local schools and  groups, I am also exploring opportunities to work with other community groups and supporting our youth worker with youth development projects. My aim is to develop the artist in residence scheme and to overall enhance the future artistic direction of the organisation.’

Since 2016, I have worked for New Lodge Arts as their Finance Officer I bring with me a wealth of experience having worked the last 16years within the community and voluntary sector.  My role is to provide financial management and to maintain the high standard of financial practice that is in place.  I am looking forward to building a working relationship with the team and the community and believe that I will enjoy my time here.

I’m a Project Worker within New Lodge Arts who runs a new arts programme called Stepping Stones for children who struggle with their social and emotional behaviour.  I also help to run the Arts Academy throughout the year.  I have worked in the New Lodge area for near 10 years now and feel I have a great relationship with many of the children, families and community organisations.  I enjoy observing the impact of the positive opportunities our young people are given.  It is a great honour to be part of it!

I started working for New Lodge Arts in April 2019 after a lengthy career break.  Prior to this I had 17 years’ experience working within administrative roles, 13 of which within voluntary and community sector. My role is to provide administrative support to the various projects and programmes that New Lodge Arts deliver throughout the year. Having lived in North Belfast for the past 16 years, I absolutely love seeing the positive impact organisations like New Lodge Arts are having on children within the area.
