New Lodge Arts are inviting tender applications for a competent, experienced and appropriately qualified Artist to deliver the Stepping Stones programme.

Location:                                             New Lodge Arts, Ashton Centre

 

 

Role description

                                                               

The Artist will coordinate and deliver the Stepping Stones, a brand new visual arts-based programme for children and young people with Emotional, Social and Behavioural difficulties.  The programme aim is to develop personal and social skills, confidence and self-esteem development.

 

The role will require a highly experienced, committed and creative person who brings innovation, energy and strong youth engagement skills to supporting young people’s development. The role requires considerable experience in working with young people with Emotional, Social and Behavioural difficulties.

               

Responsibilities:                             

1.       To co-ordinate and deliver the Stepping Stones programme engaging with young people (aged 5-11yrs) with Emotional, Social and Behavioural difficulties.  To include attendance at 3 weekly after schools classes:

-          Group 1 – Tuesday’s after schools

-          Group 2 – Wednesdays after schools

-          Group 3 – Thursdays after schools

Sessions will be 1.5 hours.

2.       To encourage a fun, positive, participative, youth-centred atmosphere at weekly classes ensuring that young people play an active role in the development of activities

3.       To positively challenge oppressive behaviour in young people.

4.       Support young people in evaluating activities and the impact of the programme on their development.

5.       Support young people in their understanding of risk and challenge and in taking action to address key issues in their lives.

6.       To engage with a range of agencies including the local Family Support Hubs to identify and recruit young people to the programme.

7.       To support participants’ progression on to the more consistent Arts Academy Programme and other initiatives.

8.       To monitor and record participant’s interests and engagement throughout the duration of the programmes

9.       To work closely with Project Worker, youth workers, arts organisations and youth and community groups to maximise the creative outcomes from programmed activities.

 



 

The tender format is as follows:

 

a)      Applicants must demonstrate and provide evidence where appropriate how they meet all elements of the essential criteria.  Please note it is important to address each criteria listed above in your application.  Failure to do so will result in your tender application being deemed ineligible. 

b)      Applicants must include a full and up to date CV with their application and two referees.

c)       Applicants must include a copy of all relevant certificates.

Any tender applications not including all information above will be discounted as incomplete and will not move to scoring.  All tenders must be received no later than 12.00 pm on Tuesday 17th September 2019.  No late tenders, faxed tenders or e-mails will be accepted.

 

New Lodge Arts will use the information supplied to score all tender applications.  Please take note of weighting criteria as this will be used to total scores. 

 



Methodology

Submissions must provide:

 

·         Vision for the development and delivery of the Stepping Stones Programme.

 

·         A detailed account of how the requirements of this contract will be delivered, supplying detail on approach, methodology and management of project. Please provide comprehensive details on how you would propose to approach this project.  Submissions are required to propose a methodology which they consider is the most efficient and cost-effective approach to achieve the objectives of this project.
