In 2013, DU Dance led the North Belfast Merge project - a programme which sought to build the bridge between traditional and street art; helping young people to develop the skills needed in a theatrical context to express themselves, creatively develop their work for an audience, and, while using the energies of youth culture. Throughout the project, young people from different communities including New Lodge, Cliftonville, Mount Vernon, New Hill and Whitewell worked together to create an innovative dance performance.
The group performed at the North Belfast Lantern Parade and Magical Evening on 30th October 2013. The exciting performance included a variety of dance style, fire shows, music, rap, bmx and skateboard stunts that captivated audiences.
