A group of young leaders (aged 14-17 years), have recently completed their OCN qualification, Leadership in Youth Work OCN (Level 2). This qualification was delivered over around 16 sessions, with all young people committing fully both in and out of sessions. In total the young people contributed at least 40 hours work to this. The content of the qualification focused on the basics of youth work, communication and teaching young people how to plan and deliver a youth work session. The main outcome of this qualification, as well as learning, is that at the end of the process the young people are equipped and capable of delivering their own youth work session to their peers. All young leaders successfully delivered their sessions to their peers and course tutors, on behalf of New Lodge Arts we would like to say well done to all involved!
