1. Introduction

New Lodge Arts is currently seeking an experienced consultant to support the strategic development of the organisation, including income generation, business planning, and fundraising strategy.

2. Context & Background

New Lodge Arts has been delivering high-quality arts and cultural programmes since 2003. Originally established by Ashton Community Trust, it became a constituted organisation in 2007 and was registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee in 2010. Ashton Community Trust remains the sole member organisation.

Based in North Belfast, New Lodge Arts serves the Greater New Lodge and surrounding communities. The organisation primarily works with children and young people aged under 25, offering accessible, consistent, and high-quality arts programming. Its work is grounded in an integrated community arts and youth work model, designed to build confidence, aspiration, and social connection while addressing the legacy of conflict and poverty in the area.

3. Purpose of the Consultancy

New Lodge Arts wishes to appoint a consultant to:

  • Review current income streams and advise on opportunities for diversification.
  • Develop a clear and sustainable fundraising strategy.
  • Support the creation of a business development plan that includes realistic targets and measurable outcomes.

4. Scope of Work

The Consultant will be expected to:

  • Engage with key stakeholders (staff, board etc).
  • Advise on a revised business plan.

 

5. Reporting and Timeframe

The Consultant will report directly to the Manager of New Lodge Arts/Chairperson.

The consultancy will be undertaken on a freelance basis with an agreed fee of £6,000 including VAT .

It is anticipated that the work will be completed over an agreed number of days within a 3 month period.

Start date: To be agreed with the appointed consultant.

A cover letter outlining your interest in and suitability for the role.

A CV demonstrating relevant experience.

An indication of your availability and proposed timeframe.
