Inner North Youth Platform presented their Peer Mentoring Award
A huge well done to the young people in the Inner North Youth Platform for gaining a qualification in Peer Mentoring for young people. They are a credit to their families and communities, keep up the good work!
From October 2015 to December 2015 the young people in the Inner North Youth Platform have been participating in an OCCNI accredited programme. The young people successfully completed the OCN before Christmas and were presented with their certificates. The young people worked very hard and were very committed to this programme and the outside learning/researching involved. The group now have a Level 1 qualification in Peer Mentoring for young people. Completing this course has given them the basis of knowledge and the skills they need to be a peer mentor in their communities, the youth platform, in school, in youth centres or wherever they choose to put it into practice.
Moving forward as part of this youth platform, the young people will be able to help the new recruits that want to join the platform next year. This is a great way for them to practice their skills and also help younger or less experienced young people.
